The 2018 MSA Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement
The MSA Scholarship for Outstanding Student Achievement competition began in 2016. MSA awarded $500 to two scholarship winners in both 2016 and 2017 funded by MSA membership fees. The 2018 Scholarship is funded through an anonymous donation that has allowed MSA to grow this program. MSA is proud to announce the 2018 Scholarship for Outstanding Student Achievement competition will award 10 students a cash award of $1,500 each along with the other benefits listed below. Winners will be selected by a panel of three jurors and chosen based on the merits of work submitted. Deadline: March 31st
Any student currently enrolled in an accredited program seeking an AA, BA, BFA, MA, or MFA degree may apply. Each applicant must be nominated by a sponsor with an active MSA membership. All MSA members except University/College members may nominate one student each. The number of nominations a University/College member can nominate is dictated by their membership level. Scholarship winners will be awarded $1500.00. Half ($750) will be paid at the announcement of winners, half ($750) will be paid during an award ceremony during the MSA Conference: Knoxville 2018. Winners must attend the conference to receive second payment.
Free admission to the MSA Conference: Knoxville 2018 featuring keynote speaker Chakaia Booker and guest presenters Elizabeth Turk and Mary Beth Neubauer. The conference is October 4th -7th, 2018 at University of Tennessee Knoxville.
